IVAN GORDILLO

Ivan Gordillo was born in Mexico City in 1970. He studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in N.Y. in 1999. Since then, as an actor, Ivan has performed in many theatre plays and has participated in theatre festivals in Mexico, South America, and Spain. He has also written three plays, two in Spanish and one in English-Dutch, and has directed theatre groups in Mexico and Colombia. Ivan moved to Belgium in 2017. In the same year, he performed the role of Schmendiman in the play: Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin with the American Theatre Company in Brussels. In Ghent, he has worked with Victoria Deluxe theatre company as an actor and theatre teacher. In 2019 he was part of the cast of the short film The Mole directed by Ambrose Smoke in Brussels which has won several festival awards. In 2020, Ivan wrote and directed his play ‘Time’ which premiered during the Mestizo Arts Wipcoop festival in Ghent. He is currently part of the cast for the fourth season of Mocro Maffia, a Dutch TV series. In 2021 he finished his first feature screenplay “Entwined” which was selected in the New York international screenplay awards and is a quarterfinalist in the Screencraft Feature Screenplay Competition.

Iván Gordillo nació en la Ciudad de México en 1970. Estudió teatro en la American Academy of Dramatic Arts en Nueva York en 1999. Desde entonces, como actor, Iván ha actuado en muchas obras de teatro y ha participado en festivales de teatro en México, América del Sur, y España. También ha escrito tres obras de teatro, dos en español y una en inglés-holandés. Ha dirigido grupos de teatro en México y Colombia. Ivan se mudó a Bélgica en 2017, el mismo año, interpretó el papel de Schmendiman en la obra: Picasso at the Lapin Agile de Steve Martin con la American Theatre Company en Bruselas. En Gante, ha trabajado con la compañía de teatro Victoria Deluxe como actor y profesor de teatro. En 2019 formó parte del elenco del cortometraje “The Mole” dirigido por Ambrose Smoke en Bruselas que ha ganado varios premios en festivales. En 2020, Ivan escribió y dirigió su obra 'Time', que se estrenó durante el festival Mestizo Arts Wipcoop en Gante. En 2021 formó parte del elenco de la cuarta temporada de Mocro Maffia, una serie de televisión holandesa. En 2021 terminó de escribir su largometraje, “Entwined”, que fue seleccionado en festival internacional de Nueva York y es cuarto finalista en el concurso de guiones de largometraje Screencraft.
